While browsing through my files that I have been accumulating for a chapter in my new book, I thought I would share one of my more interesting mathematical generalizations.
In 1998, while studying “Quantum Arithmetic”, I was looking at ways to simplify the different formulas for areas of straight edged shapes such as triangles and quadrilaterals. After a number of approaches, I constructed the current general formula, I have now dubbed as “Arto’s Equation for Areas of Quadrilaterals and Triangles” it is extremely universal and doesn’t require lookup tables if used in computer programming.
Here is the Jpg file that explains the complete equation.
